Halloween Costume Generator

The Halloween costume generator picks homemade ideas from six lines: a cardboard rocket, a raincoat with felt scales, a paper lantern on a stick, and three more of the same kind. Porch, two picks, is the raincoat and then the lantern.

New

No film character and no game character is named. The ideas are materials you can find at home.

How to use

  1. Type a seed and how many ideas, from 1 to 4.
  2. Press Pick. Each line is a materials description.
  3. Reset restores two ideas from porch.

Formula / how it works

The list. Six ideas, all built from paper, cloth, foil or paint. A cardboard rocket with foil fins. A raincoat with felt scales. A paper lantern on a stick. A newspaper crown and a blanket cape. A painted box robot. A leaf cloak and a twig staff. Porch and 2 are the raincoat and the lantern. Attic and 1 is the lantern alone, because that seed’s first draw is the lantern and the count stops. The same idea is not repeated in one press. Four is the maximum, and the list has six, so a normal request is filled.

Why no characters. A costume named for a film is someone else’s design, and it also needs a licence you do not get from a random draw. A materials line is something you can make without copying a costume from a poster. Add a colour if you want. The line will not do it for you. The topic generator is a writing prompt. This page is a making prompt. They share a seed shape and nothing else.

Safety. A lantern on a stick is paper, not a candle. A box robot needs eye holes you cut yourself, and this page does not tell you where to cut. Read the line as a sketch. If a material is a bad idea for the person wearing it, skip the line and draw again with a new seed.

Tell a group the seed if they should all build from the same two lines. A new seed is how you get a different pair. The list will not grow on the night. Six ideas is the whole cupboard. If you have already used them, you are inventing, which was the point of stopping at materials rather than at a character name. Do not add a trademark to the line and then claim the page suggested it.

Read the materials before you buy anything. Foil fins on a cardboard rocket are a craft, not a helmet that should cover the face. Felt scales on a raincoat still need the raincoat to close. A newspaper crown tears when it gets wet, so it is an indoor idea. A painted box needs holes you decide, not holes this sentence specifies. A leaf cloak wilts. A twig staff is a stick. None of these lines is a pattern with measurements. If you need measurements, you are past the prompt and into a plan you should write yourself. The seed only chooses which prompt you start from. It does not size the costume to a person. Ask the wearer before you glue anything. A count of two is a pair of options, not a costume that combines both. Combining the raincoat and the lantern is your edit, and you should check that the combination can be walked in.

FAQ

Will it name a film character?

No. The lines are materials: cardboard, felt, paper, newspaper, paint, leaves.

How many ideas are on the list?

Six. One press can return at most four, with no repeats.

Does porch always give the raincoat?

Porch and 2 start with the raincoat and then the paper lantern.

Is a candle included?

No. The lantern line is paper on a stick. Do not add a flame.

Can I get the same pair again?

Yes, with the same seed and the same count.

Is the seed uploaded?

No. The draw runs in the browser.

Runs entirely in your browser; your text is not uploaded. Counts and scores are heuristics, so review the output before you publish it.
