Capital to small letter, as a search, is often a request for ordinary lowercase. That is a different job. Small caps are other characters, not the same code points as a, b and c.
How to use
- Type the word or short line.
- Press Shrink. Read the tiny line, the small-caps line, and the lists of letters that had no form.
- Copy one line. Reset restores hello.
Formula / how it works
Tiny means superscript. The first line maps each letter and digit it can onto a superscript character: h becomes ʰ, 2 becomes ². That is the row people paste when they ask a tiny text generator for “small text”. It is not a smaller font size. The letters are different characters that happen to be drawn small and raised. The superscript generator is the tool to use when you only want digits raised, as in H2O to H²O, and you want the letters to stay on the baseline. This page raises everything it can.
Small caps are not lowercase. The second line folds capitals to the small-cap alphabet: OK becomes ᴏᴋ. A capital to small letter search often wants the case converter, which turns OK into ok using ordinary Latin letters. Those two results are not interchangeable. A search for “ok” will not find ᴏᴋ. Keep the plain spelling if the words need to be found later.
Missing forms are listed. Superscript has no capital C, F, Q, S, X, Y or Z, and small caps have no x. Those characters are copied unchanged and named on the “No tiny form” or “No small-cap form” line. A little font generator that dropped them would look shorter than the input and hide the gap. The list is the gap.
Spaces. Spaces and line breaks are kept, so a two-word phrase stays two words. Punctuation that has no tiny twin stays punctuation. The character count at the end is the length of what you typed.
Where it fails. A bank form, a hashtag and a URL are poor places for superscripts. Some chats draw superscripts so small they become unreadable on a phone. If the tiny line is illegible, use the small-caps line, which sits on the baseline at a size closer to the surrounding text. Neither line changes the meaning of the words. They only change the characters.
Length. Input is capped at 280 characters. A whole article in superscript is not readable, and it is painful to select. Use the page for a name, a label or a single sentence.
Phones draw them smaller than you expect. A superscript that looks acceptable on a laptop can shrink to a speck on a phone, because the glyph is designed as an exponent next to a full-size letter. If the tiny line fails that glance test, copy the small-caps line instead. It stays on the baseline.
Worked examples
A word with a tiny form for every letter
Inputs: Text: hello
Leave the text as hello and press Shrink. Every letter has both a superscript and a small cap, so both missing lists say none.
Result: Tiny: ʰᵉˡˡᵒ
Small caps: ʜᴇʟʟᴏ
No tiny form: none
No small-cap form: none
Characters: 5
The tiny line is superscript, not a reduced font size.
Capitals into small caps
Inputs: Text: OK
Change the text to OK and press Shrink. The small-caps line is not the ordinary lowercase spelling ok.
Result: Tiny: ᴼᴷ
Small caps: ᴏᴋ
No tiny form: none
No small-cap form: none
Characters: 2
Use cases
- A tiny label in a caption that has no font-size control.
- Seeing which capitals have no superscript before you promise a style.
- Producing small caps without calling them lowercase.
- Checking a little font generator result against the plain spelling.
Tips & limitations
- Use the superscript tool when only the digits should rise.
- Use the case converter when you want real lowercase letters.
- Read the missing-form lines before you copy.
- Do not put superscripts in a hashtag you hope people will search.
FAQ
Is tiny text a smaller font size?
No. The tiny line is Unicode superscript. The size is part of the character, not a CSS setting.
Why is small caps different from lowercase?
Lowercase uses a, b and c. Small caps use other code points that look like small capitals. Search treats them as different letters.
What happens to the letter x?
Superscript x exists. Small-cap x does not, in this map, so x stays x on the small-caps line and is named in the missing list.
Does hello lose any letters?
No. h, e, l and o all have a superscript and a small cap, so both missing lists say none.
Can I shrink a paragraph?
The box allows 280 characters. A paragraph of superscript is hard to read and hard to select. Keep it short.
Is the text uploaded?
No. Both lines are built in the browser.
Runs entirely in your browser; your text is not uploaded. Counts and scores are heuristics, so review the output before you publish it.
