PUBG Name Generator

A PUBG name has to fit a short field, and the game is fussy about which characters it keeps. This page takes a name of up to 16 characters and writes four versions: the name unchanged, the name with spaces, a leet spelling that stays in ASCII, and the name in square brackets.

New

It does not log into the game, and it does not promise the client will accept a row. Plain and leet are the ones that survive a filter limited to letters and digits.

How to use

  1. Type a name, 16 characters or fewer.
  2. Press Make names and read the length line first.
  3. Copy plain or leet if a previous name was rejected for symbols. Reset restores Nova.

Formula / how it works

The cap. Sixteen characters is the limit used here. A longer string is refused rather than silently cut, because a cut name is a different name and you should see the refusal. The length line counts Unicode characters, not bytes. Accented letters count as one. The stylish name generator will decorate a name with scripts and symbols that a game filter often deletes. This page stays closer to what a nickname field actually stores.

The four rows. Plain is the name. Spaced puts a normal space between characters, which many games reject even though it looks fine in the browser. Leet replaces a, e, i and o, in either case, with 4, 3, 1 and 0, and leaves every other character alone. Nova becomes N0v4. Ace becomes 4c3. The tag row wraps the name in square brackets. Brackets are ASCII, but a filter that allows only letters and digits will still refuse them. The note under the rows says that out loud.

What leet does not do. It does not swap s for a dollar sign, t for a plus, or the whole alphabet for lookalike letters from another script. Those swaps are how a name starts to imitate someone else, and they are also how a filter gets confused. Four substitutions are enough to make a distinct spelling while remaining typeable on a keyboard with no special font. If the result is ugly, that is the trade for staying inside ASCII.

Clan tags and uniqueness. Square brackets are a common way to show a group in a lobby. They add two characters, and those two count toward the 16 if you type them yourself. The tag row does not check the new length against 16, because the brackets are decoration around a name that already fit. If the field counts the brackets, shorten the name before you wrap it.

Nothing is checked against a live account. Two players can want the same plain name. This page cannot see which names are taken. It also cannot see a regional rule that is stricter than 16. Treat the rows as candidates, paste the one the client accepts, and keep the plain spelling written down.

Worked examples

A four-letter name

Inputs: Name: Nova

Leave the name as Nova and press Make names. Leet swaps the o and the a and leaves N and v.

Result: Length: 4 of 16 Plain: Nova Spaced: N o v a Leet: N0v4 Tag: [Nova] PUBG often rejects spaces and symbols. Plain and leet stay in ASCII. Sixteen characters is the cap used here.

Three letters, two of them vowels

Inputs: Name: Ace

Change the name to Ace and press Make names. Both vowels are swapped, so the leet row is 4c3.

Result: Length: 3 of 16 Plain: Ace Spaced: A c e Leet: 4c3 Tag: [Ace] PUBG often rejects spaces and symbols. Plain and leet stay in ASCII. Sixteen characters is the cap used here.

Use cases

  • Preparing a short nickname before the client rejects a symbol.
  • Seeing a leet spelling that is still typeable.
  • Checking length before you hit a 16-character field.
  • Wrapping a name in brackets only after the plain form fits.

Tips & limitations

  • Prefer plain or leet when a spaced name was rejected.
  • A name over 16 characters is an error, not a trimmed name.
  • Brackets may count against the limit in the real field.
  • This page cannot tell you if the name is already taken.

FAQ

Will the game accept every row?

No. Spaced names and brackets are often rejected. Plain and leet stay in letters and digits.

Why 16 characters?

It is the cap this form enforces. A longer name is refused so you notice, instead of being cut down to a different name.

Which letters does leet change?

Only a, e, i and o, upper or lower case. Everything else is copied.

Can I generate a name from nothing?

No. You supply the name. The page does not invent a handle or check that it is free.

Do accents count as one character?

Yes, in the length line. A game may count bytes instead. If it rejects a short accented name, switch to plain ASCII.

Is the name sent to the game?

No. The four rows are built in the browser.

Runs entirely in your browser; your text is not uploaded. Counts and scores are heuristics, so review the output before you publish it.
