Bold Text Generator

A bold text generator for chats and bios cannot send real bold formatting, because those boxes store plain characters. This page rewrites A–Z and a–z into the bold alphabets in Unicode, plus the bold italic, sans-serif bold and bold script companions, so the paste still looks heavy in apps whose font includes those glyphs.

New

Digits are included in the bold and sans-serif bold rows. Letters outside the English alphabet, and any emoji, are left as you typed them.

How to use

  1. Type the word or short line you want in a heavier alphabet.
  2. Press Make bold. Four labeled lines appear.
  3. Copy one line. Reset returns the sample word Hello.

Formula / how it works

Why paste looks bold without a bold button. The characters are not the letters A–Z with a style bit. They are different code points that fonts draw with a heavy stroke. Mathematical bold capital A is U+1D400, and the rest of the capitals and small letters follow it. Bold digits start at U+1D7CE. A phone that has a recent system font will draw them as the word you typed, only heavier. A phone with a thin font may draw a box. That is a font coverage limit, not a failed conversion.

The four lines. Bold is the serif mathematical bold. Bold italic is the same idea with a slant; its small h uses the Planck-constant letter only in the plain italic alphabet, not in this bold italic row, which has its own h. Sans bold is the gothic (sans-serif) bold alphabet, which is what many people want for a username because it looks closer to a UI font. Bold script is the heavy cursive. The fancy text generator adds fraktur, circled, fullwidth, monospace and an upside-down line when you want more than weight. Stay here when the only request is a bold text generator.

What is not bolded. There is no Unicode bold form for every punctuation mark, so spaces, commas and exclamation marks stay ordinary and sit next to the heavy letters. That mix is normal. Accents are not rebuilt: “é” is not turned into a bold é, because the math alphabets do not encode that combination. Type the unaccented letter if you need it styled, or paste the accented word knowing it will stay plain. The case converter can upper-case a line before you style it, which matters because bold capitals and bold small letters are different code points.

Copying cleanly. Each line is prefixed with a label so you can tell the four alphabets apart. Copy from after the colon if the destination should not include the word “Bold”. On a desktop, triple-click the styled part. On a phone, select the styled word carefully; some browsers select the label with it. The result is capped with the same 280-character input limit used by the wider font page, so a styled paragraph does not become an unselectable slab.

Where it fails. HTML, Markdown and a word processor already have real bold. Do not paste mathematical letters into a page you control; use the bold tag or the style. Banks, airlines and government forms often reject anything outside Basic Latin. Search engines index the characters as themselves, not as the plain letters, so a styled heading on a site you own is a poor way to write a title. Use the styled line in a social caption, a display name or a note, and keep the plain spelling somewhere you can search.

Digits and a quick check. “Sale” is four letters, so every row changes all four. A code such as A1 keeps the letter bold and, on the bold and sans rows, turns the digit bold too. Italic-style rows in the wider tool leave digits alone; these four rows are specifically the heavy set. If a row looks identical to what you typed, the font is falling back, or the character was never in A–Z.

Worked examples

The sample word

Inputs: Text: Hello

Leave the text as Hello and press Make bold. The first line is mathematical bold and the third is sans-serif bold.

Result: Bold: 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 Bold italic: 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐 Sans bold: 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 Bold script: 𝓗𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓸

A short shop word

Inputs: Text: Sale

Replace the text with Sale and press Make bold. All four letters sit in each heavy alphabet.

Result: Bold: 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞 Bold italic: 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒆 Sans bold: 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲 Bold script: 𝓢𝓪𝓵𝓮

Use cases

  • A display name that should look heavier than the app’s normal type.
  • A caption where the bold button is missing or gets stripped on paste.
  • Comparing serif bold with sans bold on the same word.
  • Checking that a font on your phone actually has the mathematical bold glyphs.

Tips & limitations

  • Copy the styled word, not the label in front of it, if the label would look odd.
  • Use real formatting in documents you control.
  • Expect punctuation to stay plain.
  • Open the fancy-text page if you also need fraktur or circled letters.

FAQ

Is this the same as pressing bold in a document?

No. A document stores the letter A plus a bold flag. This page stores a different character that merely looks bold.

Which line should I paste into a chat?

Sans bold usually matches interface type. Mathematical bold looks more like print. Try both in the destination.

Why is my punctuation unchanged?

The bold alphabets cover letters and, on two of the rows, digits. Marks such as ! and ? have no bold twin here.

Will Google treat the styled word as the plain word?

Do not count on it. The code points differ. Keep plain text in anything you need people or search to read reliably.

Can I bold an emoji?

No. Emoji are copied unchanged.

Does the word leave the browser?

No. The rewrite uses the script already on the page.

Runs entirely in your browser; your text is not uploaded. Counts and scores are heuristics, so review the output before you publish it.
