FAQs

How does the comparison work?

The tool splits both texts into lines and uses a longest-common-subsequence algorithm to align matching lines. Anything left over is shown as a removal from the original or an addition in the revised text.

Can I compare long documents?

Yes, each text can be up to 1000 lines for a quick comparison. Longer texts should be split into sections for the best experience.

Does it compare word by word?

No — comparison is line by line. For fine-grained edits, keep your line breaks in the same places in both texts.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. All comparison happens locally in your browser.
