FAQs

How are numbers sorted?

Lines are compared as text, so “10” comes before “2” (because “1” comes before “2”). For numeric sorting, pad numbers with leading zeros first.

Does it sort case-sensitively?

By default, case is ignored so “apple” and “Banana” sort naturally together. Tick “Case sensitive” for strict ordering with capitals first.

Are duplicate lines removed?

No — duplicates are kept and grouped together. Use our Remove Duplicate Lines tool if you want them taken out.

Is any of my text stored?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser, and your text never leaves your device.
