FAQs

What is time-and-a-half?

Time-and-a-half means you earn 1.5 times your normal hourly rate for overtime hours. Enter 1.5 as the multiplier; for double time, enter 2.

Should breaks be included in my hours?

Only count hours you were actually paid to work. Unpaid lunch or rest breaks should be left out of both regular and overtime hours.

Does this calculator handle taxes?

No. It shows gross pay before tax and deductions, so you can check the figures against your payslip.

Can I use it for monthly overtime?

Yes. Enter your monthly hours and hourly rate instead of weekly figures; the maths works for any pay period.
