FAQs
What is charging efficiency?
Some energy is lost as heat while charging. An efficiency of 90% means 10% more energy is drawn from the charger than ends up in the battery.
What rate should I enter?
Use your home electricity tariff per kWh, or the per-kWh price of a public charger you plan to use.
Does it include standing charges?
No. The calculator covers the energy cost of the charge only.
Can I compare two chargers?
Yes. Run the calculation once per rate to compare home and public charging costs.
