Convert JSON data into well-formed XML in one click. Paste your JSON, name the root element, and get clean XML output with a download option — ideal for APIs, configuration files and data migration.

How to Use

  1. Paste your JSON into the input box.
  2. Enter a root element name (defaults to “root”).
  3. Click Convert to XML to generate the output.
  4. Copy the XML or download it as a .xml file.

Key Features

  • True XML generation — built with the XML DOM, so output is always well-formed.
  • Handles nesting — objects, arrays, nulls and primitives all convert cleanly.
  • Name sanitising — spaces, dashes and dots become underscores automatically.
  • Copy and download — one-click clipboard copy and .xml file download.
  • 100% private — runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent or stored.

FAQs

How are JSON arrays converted?

Each array item becomes an <item> element inside the parent element, preserving the order of your data.

What happens to keys that are not valid XML names?

Spaces, dashes and dots are replaced with underscores, and names starting with a digit get an “n” prefix, so the XML stays valid.

Can I choose the root element name?

Yes — type any name in the root element field before converting. It is sanitised the same way as other names.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser and never transmits or saves your data.
